Jamaica
Caribbean Classic Wall Diving
Jamaica's north coast — Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, and Negril — offers the classic Caribbean diving experience: warm water year-round (26-29°C), wall drops descending into blue water, elkhorn and staghorn coral, grouper, barracuda, and excellent visibility typically 20-30 meters.
Signature sites include the Throne Room cave in Negril, the Point of Negril wall that drops to 600 meters just offshore, and the artificial reefs off Montego Bay created by the sinking of tugboats and aircraft. Dive centers cluster around the resort towns and offer easy access to most sites from the beach or short boat rides.
Jamaica's diving is well-suited to beginners and intermediate divers. The Caribbean currents are gentle compared to Pacific destinations, and the consistent warm water means minimal exposure protection is needed year-round.
