An editorial atlas
for serious divers.

ScubaDiveResorts is a curated, independent guide to the world's most extraordinary scuba diving destinations — written by divers, for divers.

We believe diving deserves serious writing. Not generic listings, not sponsored reviews, not recycled SEO from the same handful of tourism brochures. This is an atlas built with the care we give our logbooks.

Our approach

We treat each destination as a story to tell, not a product page. Our editors research every region carefully: we read the journals of the pioneers who discovered these sites, talk to local operators, cross-check seasons, currents, depths, species. We only write about places we understand — and when we don't know something, we say so.

The editorial style is deliberate: long prose instead of bullet lists, rhythm instead of filler, and the assumption that the reader already knows the difference between a fringing reef and an atoll. This site is built for divers who measure a trip in logged dives, not days.

What we cover

Dive destinations at country and region level. Profiles of individual dive sites — the wrecks, the walls, the cleaning stations, the channels where currents stack sharks like playing cards. Editorial reviews of selected resorts and accommodation. Practical travel guides: how to get there, when to go, what to expect under water. Field notes on marine life encounters. Always original, always carefully researched.

We are not trying to cover every dive center on the planet. Selectivity is the point. We'd rather have twenty well-written destinations than two thousand empty stubs.

Editorial independence

We do not accept sponsorship from resorts, tourism boards, equipment manufacturers, or dive operators. Nobody pays to appear here. Nobody pays for a favourable review. If a resort is on these pages it is because our editorial team found it worthy — not because it sent a press release.

Some outbound links on the site are affiliate links: if you make a booking after clicking, we may earn a commission. This does not affect the price you pay, and more importantly — it does not affect what we write. We disclose this openly on our legal pages, and we would sooner shut down the site than let affiliate money dictate editorial content.

We value transparency, accuracy, and respect for the marine environment. If we find we got something wrong, we correct it. If a place has degraded, we say so. If a resort has changed hands and no longer meets our standards, we remove it. The atlas is a living document.
