Cyprus
The Eastern Mediterranean's Best-Kept Secret
Cyprus sits at the crossroads of three continents and offers some of the best Mediterranean diving in Europe. Water temperatures remain diveable nearly year-round (16-27°C) and visibility regularly exceeds 40 meters in summer months.
The island's signature dive is the Zenobia — a Swedish ro-ro ferry that sank in 1980 on her maiden voyage, now lying on her port side in 16-42 meters of water off Larnaca. Routinely ranked among the top 10 wreck dives in the world, she's still largely intact with trucks, cars, and cargo visible throughout her 172-meter length.
Beyond the Zenobia, Cyprus offers reef dives, caverns, and a growing number of artificial reefs. The island's infrastructure for diving is mature — multiple PADI, SSI, and BSAC centers, English widely spoken, short transfers from Paphos or Larnaca airports.
