Cambodia
Frontier Cambodia
Cambodia's diving is still largely unknown even to regular Southeast Asia divers. The best sites lie around Koh Tang and Koh Prins, remote islands in the Gulf of Thailand accessible from the southern port of Sihanoukville by liveaboard or long day boat.
Visibility ranges from 15-25 meters, water temperatures warm year-round (27-30°C), and marine life includes leopard sharks, seahorses, blue-ringed octopus, and enormous schools of fusiliers. Coral health is variable but improving as protection increases.
Cambodia's diving infrastructure is small and operated mostly by expat-run PADI centers. Because the country sees so few divers, the experience tends to be more personal and less crowded than neighboring Thailand. Best diving is November to May when the Gulf of Thailand is calm.
