Little Cayman Beach Resort Review: Bloody Bay Wall on Your Doorstep

September 12, 2026 By Admin 2 min read

Overview

Little Cayman Beach Resort is the only full-service resort on Little Cayman, a 4-star, luxury-tier, two-story, 40-room property whose entire value proposition rests on geography: it's ten minutes from Bloody Bay Marine Park, one of the most consistently cited vertical wall dive sites in the Caribbean. It was completed in 1993 by Dan Tibbetts, whose family has operated Cayman resorts since 1978.

The Diving

The resort's own Reef Divers operation — founded the same year as the resort, 1993 — runs daily trips to Bloody Bay itself, plus Mixing Bowl and Jackson's Bight, all part of the same wall system that drops from shallow reef into deep blue water within a short swim of the mooring. Reef Divers describes itself as running the largest dive-boat fleet in the Cayman Islands, and the operation has logged close to 3 million dives over 25 years — a genuinely large sample size behind its site knowledge. This is wall diving in the classic sense: minimal current in most conditions, exceptional visibility, and a drop-off dramatic enough that it doesn't need embellishment.

Because Little Cayman is a small, low-traffic island, dive sites here don't see the boat congestion common at more developed Caribbean destinations — a real advantage for wall diving, where multiple groups on the same site can be disruptive.

The Resort

The nearest airstrip, Edward Bodden Airfield, is about two minutes from the resort by car — about as short a transfer as exists anywhere on this list. On-site amenities include a hot-tub pool, the Nature Spa (Swedish massage, myofascial release), the Beach Nuts bar, an enclosed-porch restaurant, a tennis court, and cornhole.

Who It's For

Wall-diving purists and divers who want Bloody Bay without staying on Grand Cayman and taking a day-trip boat will get the most value here. It's a poor fit for travelers who want nightlife, shopping, or a wide range of non-diving activities — Little Cayman doesn't offer much of either.
